Why is it better that Tollyamin contains L-methionine and not DL-methionine, like all other products? Nature only knows the L-form, but not the D-form. That is why the body can only process L-methionine and has to excrete D-methionine unused. As a result, 50% of the methionine is lost. That means: when you buy a product with 1000 mg DL-methionine, only 500 mg of this valuable amino acid for the pigeons remains. Incidentally, the D-form is not permitted for humans. L-methionine is about 20 times more expensive than DL-methionine. For animals it is of course the better form.
